I’ve Been Tagged

Pat at Successful Teaching has tagged me.

Here’s the deal and the rules:

  • Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
  • Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself.
  • Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
  • Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So here are seven random things about me:

  1. I’m the oldest of 8 kids from rural Northeast Ohio. Go Browns! Go Indians!
  2. I moved to Alaska when Amoco (now pronounced BP) hired me out of college as a petroleum engineer. I often spent the night on offshore platforms which included helicopter rides and sleepless winter nights because of the jarring crash of ice against the legs of the platform. But the food was excellent.
  3. One of my favorite places is our cabin in Willow, Alaska where it’s usually peaceful and quiet unless we invite a mob of family and friends for a great time. The upcoming annual New Year’s Eve bonfire on the lake is a big event for us. Lots of snowmachines, fireworks, and great food and fun.
  4. I love the Bible and am always looking for better ways to learn about it. Following Jesus is the greatest of adventures.
  5. I’m a birder. A few years back a friend and I and all our kids drove 3 hours to see a great spotted woodpecker that had been regularly at a feeder at Caswell Lakes. A very rare bird in a very remote place. We had a blast.
  6. I enjoy building stuff with my husband, usually woodworking like furniture and cabinets. There is also our never-ending cabin construction project.
  7. Coffee and good friends and good books are a few of my favorite things.

Thanks for doing this because I enjoyed learning more about you since I also enjoy reading your blog! I loved Alaska when we visited one summer (rented a motor home for a week to go from Anchorage, Kenai Fjord National Park, Denali National Park, Fairbanks, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and then did a cruise down the inside passage. I just can’t imagine being in Alaska during the winter though.

I like the new theme!! It must be so wonderful living in Alaska and teaching your children in your own home.

Pat - I had fun doing it. Glad you enjoyed your visit. You packed a lot into your trip! Winter is very beautiful, too.

Educational Kids - Thanks on the new theme. I still have to fix some things but I really like it, too. It has the web2.0 look with the function that I want. Alaska is a great, great place to raise a family.
